Oh isn't that just cute. You and your little friends have decided to set-up a lemonade stand. How much for a delicious refreshing cup? 10Cents? That sounds reasonable but I must ask. Are you turning a profit by only charging 10 Cents? How much did your materials cost? You know the lemons, sugar, water, cups, jug, and stirring spoon? Oh, they were leant to you by your parents. So you borrowed the money from your parents then. You know you are going to have to pay them back. What do you mean they won't ask for any money back? These are tough economic times and your parents need every penny they can get including yours.
Right now it does not appear that once you pay your expenses that your lemonade stand will be turning a profit. I would suggest upping the price of your lemonade to $1.00 a cup. This is more suited for today's market.
I am sorry that you feel that is too much but if you want to make up the cost of your expenses this is the only way that you will be able to turn a profit, stay out of the red, and pay your staff. Oh, the staff they are your friends. Trust me friends make some of the worst employees to work with, almost as bad as family. They cannot be relied upon. You might want to consider downsizing your staff. Firing is never easy. To ease the burden on yourself I suggest doing it before the next pay cycle to minimize the damage on your books. It will provide you savings in your capital expenditures.
I just realized have you applied for a city permit to occupy this piece of sidewalk for your lemonade sale? You haven't?! Wow! You might want consider shutting down this operation all together right now and finding a good attorney. If a city inspector were to come by and see this you could be facing major fines that could put your entire lemonade business in jeopardy. It could go bankrupt and you could be forced to sell your assets to recoup the lost and legal fees. Assets Oh, those are the things you own. You know your toys and possibly you’re Dog, if he can fetch a good price at auction. My apologies excuse the Pun.
Have you really thought this whole operation through? Have you put together a business plan or created a SWOT Analysis? What about a little a market research first? You know the Thompson Twins down the street are offering freezies plus they have a garage sale going. To be quite honest I am not even sure if lemonade stands are the hot thing going these days. Come to think of it I don't even see any pink lemonade around here. You are really missing out on a key segment and demographic.
Look, I feel for you kid. I really do. I want to help you out. Tell you what. I will purchase your entire business and take this entire mess off your hands. Now, I cannot buy your stand at its current market value because after doing this brief bit of research I am quite sure your Balance Sheet would indicate your actual net worth to be really no more than thirty cents. Trust me, you won't find a better deal than that. Oh, you have already made more than thirty cents? That is good news, you can use that money to help pay off the debts you owe to your parents, municipality, and your lawyer. You feel that deal is not fair? I am sorry, but the structure of our deal does not state that I would be willing to inherit your debts.
Fantastic, I am glad you see things my way. I assure you I am not trying to swindle you at all. I am glad you have accepted my offer of thirty cents to purchase your lemonade stand. Since I now own your lemonade stand I think I will help myself to another drink. Free of charge of course.
